Modded or Standard

Recommended Posts

Mine has had a little tinkering and although I would like to put it back to standard getting hold of all the right bits in the condition that I'd want isn't practical, so it will end up as a mint mildly (by my standards) modified one, not ott but just right..... I hope  ::)

To the original question, I'd say a standard one would be worth more.

I honestly think its down to preference, I have been offered a over 500bhp car for same sort money that I sold a mint standard lower mile white 500, and i would be happy to pay it, because i prefer the drive of modified cars, but if your looking long term investment, rather than enjoy driving a car, standard is what you want, or Mickey, one of each for those lucky few.. ;)

I love my bog standard one for looking at and polishing, but not particularly to drive, its fine to pootle around but not to have a hoon in. I drool over the nicely modded ones knowing they must be major fun to take out for a spirited spin.

As Paul B said one of each would be an ideal world.

Mine is not standard.. A cossy should be able to turn heads and be a bit noisy IMO ;D

I´d love to know how much power it has..

This is what I know:

1991: Jondel blue printed engine reputed 400 + 6.030 pounds ??

0-100mph 10,8sec

1/2 mile best 12,8 118mph

Any ideas??

I think you should have put quarter of a mile not half a mile in 12.8 sec 118mph

Or otherwise I'd be very impressed ....Lol

Cheers Jim

Any 500 is worth its wait in gold ,but I would have to go with a totally standard car is worth more as I think that most collectors or enthusiasts will always look at owning a MIB example !
