WOLF SIERRA CHASSIE HWRT 1987 001

Recommended Posts

the wolf engine

is the correct spec,

500 block mag sump ect,  all i have done is pull it apart to check everthing, fitted new bearings and gasgets

had the turbo rebuilt with 360 rolla bearing,

for the shell i have been busy buying parts and

just managed to buy a new dyno fresh r500 race spec engine built by harvey gibbs,

if i was building one from scratch i think consider tommy feilds or harvey gibbs

and know other engines they have done in friends cars and only heard good things about them,

Nice one Martin, have you treated them to some nice new BBS splits??? 8) or will you refurb the wheels that came with them.

will use the Ronels

they are period and correct for wolf cars

as you know i do love bbs wheels but will keep to the Ronels

good job i have quite a few sets,

as went we went to the Essen motor show last month, and we spoke to Ronel as they had a stand there

and they told me they do dont supply these wheels for many years,

Hi Martin, that original Ford number sounds very like an Eggenberger build number to me, did EGMO supply Wolf, or did they both use Ford chassis numbers ? sorry to ask but I am not very well up on european build numbers.

Look forward to seeing you again at ND.

wolf used this shell so goes to show ford must have supplied all the german teams

shells from a batch,

other car 001 is painted but stuck in the back of my garage waiting for this car to get to the body shop

once its away for a few weeks the 001 will get finished,

bit slow,

but just picked up chassie 005 from the body shop,

repaired and jigged so all straight again,

the guys said it has been jigged before but then these cars were raced hard,

its in primer now and awaits the new steel cage,

removed the alloy wolf  cage as i hope its not going to be a garage queen,

so needs to be able to race once more,

pics to follow,

done a bit more to 001 which looks a lot closer to  being finished,

engine is in, gearbox next then next step get it running,

What is that sun deck thing hanging onto the front of your lovely looking car ?

I am trying to get as many 500's as you have had but have a long way to go !
